After some time, Hammerstone and his dwarves managed to mine out hundreds of pounds of the black mineral. In 1369 DR, a small deposit of black ice was formed in the corrupted pool of radiance under Castle Cormanthor when a dracolich Pelendralaar's phylactery was plunged into the exposed node of the weave.
